Heini Gruffudd discusses the history of his German-Jewish family during the period

A level students from all parts of Wales have been given the opportunity to learn more about the period from 1939-1959 through conferences held at The National Library of Wales. Presentations at these conferences have included real life accounts of families affected by the holocaust, lectures from leading historians, and presentations by A Level History specialists.

The From Warfare to Welfare project has also produced free resources for schools. These include three workbooks that you can download from this website; interactive exercises exploring children's lives during the war, women's lives during the war, and the Home Front and Rationing; a book of Geoff Charles photographs with accompanying text; and a DVD containing digital stories.
