A digital story is a short film that is about two to four minutes in length which combines voice with pictures in order to share an idea, opinion or experience. The story is narrated by its owner and is enriched with personal photographs or documents. The project has travelled throughout Wales to bring together former soldiers, eyewitnesses and school pupils to create fun, personal and educational digital stories based on the period between 1939 and 1959.
While preparing their digital stories participants had an opportunity to develop a range of skills such as creative writing, digital photography, film editing and the creation of soundtracks.
We have recorded a rich collection of stories which will be kept for posterity and they have been archived at the National Library of Wales.
