Front of a postcard sent via the Red Cross and St. John War Organisation on 11 June 1944. It was sent by George Owens, who was convalescing at the Whitchurch Emergency Hospital in Cardiff, to his family in Pembroke Dock. Private George Edward Owens of the Commandos was 19 years old when he was injured during the D-Day landings. He had been in the army for 12 months and had previously been a member of the National Fire Service at Pembroke Dock.
