Description

Following every mission, flight crews would be debriefed. This would entail giving details of the flight, resistance encountered, and whether objectives were acheived to superior officers. Records of each flight would then be stored for future reference. Dennis Cockbill flew with Bomber Command as a wireless operator, taking part in many bombing raids over Europe during the Second World War. During the spring of 1945, he flew with Operation Manna, a relief mission taking vital food supplies to starving Dutch civilians.
