A pass allowing Steven Ryan to be away from camp from 13.30 to 01.30 hours daily when not on duty. Steven was based in South Africa when this pass was issued, a stop-over on his way to India. Steven Ryan joined the Chepstow T.A. on 8 March 1938. He was sixteen years old, two years below the minimum age requirement, but he lied about his age to get in. His first postings included working with searchlight crews on the Home Front, and he went on to operate and train on anti-aircraft guns both at home and abroad.
