Description

Elizabeth Williams was born during the Second World War, whilst her father was away with the army. Her father, Gilbert Baiton, served with the Royal Engineers, and was attached to a medical corps. He travelled across Europe, and sent back many postcards, and brought back many photographs and souvenirs. He took part in the invasion of Anzio, and his main responsibility was setting up and maintaining the lighting systems at field hospitals and mobile dressing units.
