Photograph showing members of the RAF mechanised unit, with a barrage baloon. The photograph was taken in Europe in the early 1940s. John Curtis is front row left. John James Curtis of Mancot in Fllintshire joined the RAFin 1939. He was seriously wounded in Holland in 1944 by a roadside mine but later recovered. Two of John's brothers were killed in 1940; Dick on 24 May aged 23, and Tom 27 May aged 24.
