Description
Humphrey Watkin Hughes in the front row, first from left, with some of his RAF comrades. During the Second World War Humphrey served as a Wireless Operator with the RAF. Sadly on the night of 20th February 1944 the plane in which he was on board crashed and his body was never found. Today, his name can be seen on many memorials including the Runnymede Memorial, which lists all those who lost their lives while serving with the RAF during the war.
