Description

Photographs from the extensive collection of Major V Whitworth. These four images show fellow soldiers and tanks in Germany. Major Whitworth recorded his experiences of the Second World War in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East through photographs. His collection runs to many hundreds of images. Major V. Whitworth was 19 years old when he became a member of the Royal Dragoons at the beginning of the Second World War. He served in several countries abroad and was wounded twice during his time in service.
