Postcard states that 'time crawls along very slowly and still no news from you, why don't you write and let me know how you all are. Mary sent me a letter the other week and she told me that Edie was married and that Bob was O.K., but no news of Fred or of you. I'm very anxious about you all, please write. Fondest love to you all. Charles'. Charles Roberts of Denbigh was a brother to Fred Hughes of 9, Panton Hall, Denbigh. Fred was killed in an allied air raid on 20 August 1944 and is buried in Auschwitz municipal cemetery. Charles also served in the forces and returned safely to North Wales.
