Len Trehearn of Rhyl died on 14 April 1942 when the Halifax bomber he was in crashed while testing, near Baldersby. He is buried in Rhyl Town Cemetery. He served with 102 Squadron as a Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. His brother Vernon also served with the RAF and their father, P.T. Trehearn saw service with the RAF in the 1st World War.
