Description

Glyn Roberts of the Royal Regiment of Artillery married Elisabeth Margaret Rowlands (Bessie) in Llanbadarn Fawr Church, Aberystwyth. Glyn Roberts of Bodlondeb, Rhydyfelin worked at the Co-op on the High Street, Aberystwyth as the driver of the bread delivery van before joining the army. Glyn served in Java during the Second World War and was taken Prisoner of War by the Japanese in 1942. As he was transported to Moena Island in Celebes on a Red Cross boat it was hit by friendly fire and tragically all on board drowned.
