Description
The notes explain the provisions of the War Damage Act, whereby property damaged as a result of war was eligible for a contribution from the government towards repair. This contribution was made at the rate of two shillings per pound sterling of rateable value, or in the case of 'agricultural properties', sixpence per pound sterling of rateable value.
