A standard postcard issued by the armed services for personnel to write home to family members. What could be written, and where, was governed by strict rules so that information on troop positions etc. was not inadvertently given away. Iori Lewis joined the 146 Field Regiment R.A & 146 Medium Regiment R.A. Pembroke & Cardiganshire Yeomanry T.A in 1939. He left his job at the Shell petroleum depot to fight in the war. After basic training Iori was mobilised first to North Wales then to the Midlands and later sent to protect the south coast of England. He saw action in the North African Desert and Europe.
